Psalm 86:15 — “But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.”
In my opinion one of the most important parts of who God is is love. It is so important! There are whole books of the Bible about love (If you don’t believe me read Hosea), and much of the New Testament is about this great command: to love. It is not only part of who God is, but it is also one of our duties as Christians, no, it should be part of our lifestyle.
The sad thing is that many Christians seem to miss this important message. We are called to love all people, even those who are standing in the gates of Hell. We are also called to be loved by God.
Zephaniah 3:17 — “The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.”
Loving, and walking in love have benefits for the believer, and I think the powerful Christian life isn’t possible without it. Colossians says that “love ties everything together perfectly,” and I John says that if you love you know God. Love also empowers us: “perfect love drives out fear.”
1 Corinthians 13:13 — “And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
Love is so important don’t miss it by getting caught up in fear, hate, or pain.
